About Us

Calder District Scouts are based in the North Lanarkshire area and we aim to provide fun, safe, adventurous activities to over 400 young people. We provide fun, friendship, and adventure to young people aged from 6 to 25.

Calder District was formed from the amalgamation of Monklands and Motherwell Districts back in 2008. Currently we have 14 groups in that make up Calder District.

Within Calder District we have an area of Woodland, Coltswood, that is owned and operated by Clyde Region.

Our Groups

This map shows where all the groups in Calder District are located. We can get you in touch with a particular group by filling out our contact us form.

Most groups have Beavers (6-8yrs), Cubs(8-10.5yrs) and Scouts(10.5-14yrs). Some groups also have an Explorer Section (14-18yrs).

Our groups meet in a wide range of places from schools to church halls, some groups operate from their own Scout Hall.

Wanted: Everyday heroes. Volunteer today.

Our leaders and executive teams

All of our leaders are trained volunteers, working to make sure Scouting is safe and open to all. Some help at a section week in and week out. Others visit occasionally to help run a session or drop in to share their skills. No matter how much time you have to spare, find out about volunteering on your own terms.

There plenty of behind the scenes roles too – if you’d like to help get in touch!

Where do my badges go?

The big question! There’s plenty of badge layouts on the internet but hopefully these ones will be a bit more personalised and make it easier to place the badges. Click on the section to see where the badges go.

The District Team

With 400 young people and all the adult volunteers that go along with that we have a great district leadership and executive committee that help support the volunteers and enrich the programme for groups across Calder District.
